Hi there,Just a quick note with some positive progress before the holiday weekend. Kathy has moved to the rehab wing of the hospital. That means they expect her to do 3 hours of therapy a day. That will include physical, occupational and speech therapy.
She is definitely getting a little stronger every day and seems much more like herself. She is not on any continuous IVs any more. Her arm that had the blood clot is slowly healing. It could be several weeks to a couple months before she is able to come home. But as she progresses, the rehab unit has phases where she can do more. Phase 1, a car ride. Phase 2, a home visit for a couple hours. Phase 3, all day home visit but back to the hospital overnights.
And it looks like we will be able to bring her dog in at some point to visit. She's already asking about that. She's in good spirits and was able to watch both the DWTS and Idol finale! And Dad and I will have more free time as she spends more time doing rehab. Have a great holiday weekend. Love to all. Lara
