Mom is still in the hospital. They are monitoring a number of things, none of them serious. In addition to the infection, she has a touch of pneumonia. They’re evaluating her daily to see when she can be released back into skilled nursing. I expect it will be another couple of days. And we’re not sure if we’re returning to the same facility or someplace different.
Dad and I started researching a new vehicle. There’s a local place that does van conversions—adding lifts to vans and minivans. Dad talked to them on Saturday and also went to Carmax to test drive a Honda Odyssey. He’ll probably get an Odyssey sometime soon. But it’s too early to know if we’ll need a lift.
Time is taking its toll on us. Being at the hospital or nursing home is exhausting. We’re trying to keep our spirits up but it’s extremely difficult at times. We’re all having good and bad days. We try to keep reminding ourselves of the progress that’s been made so far. We’re also trying to keep in mind that people recover. It just takes time.
