Here's another quick update before the holiday weekend. Last week Kathy was moved to a skilled nursing facility. She is in the Ashton Court Care and Rehabilitation Centre in Liberty, Mo. There is still no place in the room for anything other than cards. Please keep sending those to the house. They're greatly appreciated.
They moved her to the new facility because she made good progress over the last couple of weeks after adjusting her medication. She doesn't necessarily need acute medical care anymore. But she still needs quite a bit of care. She's getting stronger but it continues to be really slow. Chuck is still by her side all day, every day.
She is getting more movement in her right hand but can't quite bend her fingers to grip yet. She can do quite a bit with her left hand but her arm muscles are still weak. She's doing well in therapy but we still face a long road. We're hoping they can get her out of bed soon and start to get her walking but it's still way too early for that. Right now we're working on moving her feet.
